Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

InterviewPlan (“InterviewPlan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by 9ance Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, web application, and desktop app (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what our AI features process on your behalf, and what we observe automatically.

Account information. Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text) when you register.

Preparation content. Resumes and resume drafts, job descriptions, company research, reference documents, and anything you type into Preparation Strategy, Mock Interview, or Practice sessions.

Live Copilot data.When you run a live session, the desktop app processes audio from your microphone and, where you enable it, system audio, to transcribe questions and generate suggested answers. If you use “listen to both” mode, your own spoken answer is also recorded so we can generate a fluency and confidence report. See Section 4 for how this data is handled.

Billing information. Plan, AI credit and Live Copilot minute balances, and transaction history. Card and payment details are collected and stored directly by our payment processors (Stripe and/or Razorpay) — we do not receive or store full card numbers.

Usage and device information. Log data, IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, and feature usage, collected automatically when you use the Service.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the Service — generating your preparation plan, running mock interviews, and streaming Live Copilot suggestions from your own resume, role, and company context.
• To operate your account — authentication, billing, AI credit and minute tracking, and customer support.
• To generate the confidence, fluency, and progress reports shown in your dashboard.
• To maintain and improve the Service, including diagnosing errors and understanding aggregate feature usage.
• To send you service-related communications (e.g. session summaries, credit-balance warnings, security notices). You can opt out of marketing emails; you cannot opt out of essential account and billing notices.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

We do not use your resumes, interview transcripts, or recordings to train third-party foundation models beyond what is required to generate your own responses in real time, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Live Copilot and recordings, specifically

The Live Copilot overlay runs locally on your device and is excluded from screen capture, so it does not appear when you share your screen, and it sends no data to the meeting platform you are using. Session transcripts and any “listen to both” recordings are encrypted, tied only to your account, and are never shared with your interviewer or employer. Always follow the policies of the company or platform you are interviewing with regarding recording and AI assistance.

5. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

We use essential local storage (not cookies) to keep you signed in between visits. Our marketing website uses Google Analytics (Google Tag, measurement ID configured for interviewplan.ai) to understand aggregate traffic and page performance; this may set cookies and collect device/browser information subject to Google’s own privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics inside the authenticated product, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. This Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

6. Data retention and deletion

Interview transcripts and recordings are retained only as long as needed for the features above, and are deleted automatically 90 days after a session unless you delete them sooner from your dashboard. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through Support; we will confirm the request and complete deletion within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (e.g. billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Who we share information with

• Service providers who process data on our behalf — cloud hosting, AI model providers, transcription providers, email delivery, and payment processing (Stripe, Razorpay) — bound by contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Your team, if your account is part of an Enterprise/Team plan — your organization owner can see usage and allowance data for members they invited, not your individual resume or interview content.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, or to prevent fraud, abuse, or harm.
• Business transfers — if InterviewPlan is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive content, hashed passwords, and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

InterviewPlan is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of this directly from your account settings, or contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

11. International users

InterviewPlan may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required by applicable law, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection for information transferred internationally.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-product notice before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
